TO: ALL TASO CHAPTERS The health and safety of our members are a priority for the TASO Board of Directors, each Division Board of Directors, and the TASO staff. It is our recommendation that our TASO local chapters follow the guidelines for the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). As of March 15, 2020, the CDC states: Therefore, CDC, in accordance with its guidance for large events and mass gatherings, recommends that for the next 8 weeks, organizers (whether groups or individuals) cancel or postpone in-person events that consist of 50 people or more throughout the United States. Events of any size should only be continued if they can be carried out with adherence to guidelines for protecting vulnerable populations, hand hygiene, and social distancing. When feasible, organizers could modify events to be virtual. Follow this LINK to view the full guideline. As this is a very fluid situation, we recommend that you check this link often. If you are considering a Chapter Board Meeting via telephone or video teleconference remember that the Texas Non-Profit Business Code requires your by-laws to specifically allow for on-line and e-mail voting.
